PUTRAJAYA: Students have been warned against getting involved in politics as it is against the law for them to do so.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said the best way for them to participate in the coming general election was to vote.
Those who broke the law would face swift action, he warned.
“We have received a few complaints about university students getting involved in politics and are investigating this,” he said.
New graduates had been found instigating fellow students to get involved in politics, he said.
He was commenting on recent reports of graduates and students wanting to register a Parti Mahasiswa Negara, failing which they had pledged to contest as independents in the general election.
